Thank you to all participants of the 2009 Lifesavers Conference in Nashville! Nearly 2,000 attendees gathered to network, visit over 100 exhibit booths, and learn more about highway safety. We also thank all of you that responded to our on-line evaluation – the feedback has been very positive. Congratulations to Shawn of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department! He won the drawing for a free registration and one night’s free stay at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, Lifesavers’ headquarters hotel. Save the Dates: We look forward to another successful conference next year in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 11-13, 2010. Be sure to check back here in November for updated information. All events will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The conference hotels will be as follows (single/double): Philadelphia Marriott Downtown: $217/$227 What is Lifesavers? (back to top) Lifesavers is the premier national highway safety meeting in the United States dedicated to reducing the tragic toll of deaths and injuries on our nation's roadways. Starting in the early 1980s, the Lifesavers conference attendance has grown steadily, drawing nearly 2,000 participants in 2009. Each year, the Lifesavers Conference has become even more relevant and timely, providing a forum that delivers common-sense solutions to today's critical highway safety problems. The conference addresses a wide range of safety topics, from child passenger safety and occupant protection to roadway and vehicle safety and technology. It offers the latest information on advances in highway safety, highlights successful programs and draws attention to emerging safety issues. Lifesavers has no single sponsor and relies on the involvement of diverse private and public groups who share the common goal of improving highway safety. AAA* Why Should You Attend Lifesavers? (back to top) While it is impossible to correlate reduced crashes, injuries and fatalities to attendance at a conference, the Lifesavers program is put together by a dedicated group of highway safety experts from both the public and private sectors. We strive to base workshops on evidence-based programs that can be replicated in communities throughout the country. If you haven't attended a Lifesavers conference in a while, we urge you to join us at our next conference in Nashville. We are confident that you won't go away disappointed. Child passenger safety professionals Lifesavers participants meet with their highway safety peers in a forum where they can share program successes, learn from each other, and develop alliances with people from all over the country. Sponsorship (back to top) Consider being a sponsor of the Lifesavers 2010 Conference. Your organization would be recognized as a sponsor on all printed material and signage, receive special seating and public recognition at the awards luncheon, and for every $5,000 donated you receive a free conference registration. Please contact Bill Windsor for more information at windsob@nationwide.com. Workshop Submissions/Suggestions (back to top) For 2010, the Lifesavers Conference program committee will be developing workshops and obtaining speakers based on input from attendee evaluations from 2009. We are not currently requesting submissions.
